Middle School basketball practice will begin on Monday 11/6. Girls will start at 3:00 p.m. and boys will start at 4:30 p.m. Due to high numbers and uncertain rosters at this point we will start on monday with 7th and 8th graders only. Once the coaches and I figure out our exact numbers we will discuss 6th graders. It is our hope that 5th and 6th graders can gain more experience and have more playing time on the Rec teams. Please encourage participation in the Rec program so we can avoid basketball teams with 15 students on the bench. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work on solidifying our middle school basketball programs! We are excited to have Tiegan Murray coaching our girls team and Josh Polland coaching our boys team.

Parents and Guardians of GCS; Since the Varsity Boys Southern Maine Final is to be held in Biddeford on Tuesday Night at 6:30 pm, Greenville Consolidated School is offering students and parents a free ride on a student bus to cheer on our team. We will be leaving the school behind the sports bus on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 pm and will return to the school around 12:30am. Any student from grade 6 and above can ride on the bus, and students below grade 6 are welcome with the accompaniment of a parent chaperone. We will be stopping for food at a fast food establishment on the way home, so some money for that as well as concessions is recommended. Also, the MPA is only selling tickets online, https://gofan.co/event/1123291?schoolId=MPA. Student tickets are $5, Adult tickets are $10. Tickets are not available at the stadium, so students need to have their ticket purchase on their phone. If your student doesn't have a phone, you can send the appropriate amount in with your student and Mr. Shaw will put their ticket on his phone. This is a great chance to not only have fun, but to cheer your Varsity Boys Team on to victory! Please print and return the attached permission slip by Tuesday Morning to Mr. Shaw. Go Lakers!

It is never too early to instill the importance of "STOP, DROP, and ROLL" in our young learners. We extend our thanks to SRO Josh Guay for his initiative in welcoming Fire Chief Sawyer Murray and GVFD firefighters to GCS during Fire Safety Month. Our Pre-K and Kindergarten students gained valuable insights into safety gear worn by firefighters and essential fire safety techniques.
