Attention parents...Over the last several weeks many girls have expressed interest in reviving a cheering program. I plan on holding a meeting this Wednesday (2/7) at 2:45 pm. with Suzzanne Owens who has offered to help get things started. This is the infancy stages but we would like to have as many parents and students as possible. At this time I'm offering all ages to attend so that we can see what we have for interest and at what grade level.

The Kindergarteners have been studying owls! They have listened to the books, Owl Moon by Jane Yolen, White Owl, Barn Owl by Nicola Davies, and Owls by Gail Gibbons. They have been busy at centers! At the Block Center they created nest boxes for Barn Owls. At the Art Easel they used other artists' work as inspiration to create their own owls using pastels as their medium. At the Art Table they used the "beautiful stuff" to create frogs, fish, or owls. They created owl nests at the Discovery Table. They also used tools to investigate how different birds might use their beaks to pick up food. At the Drama Center they created a woodland habitat and acted out Owl Moon. They concluded the unit by dissecting owl pellets!

The GCS Costuming Club is currently in full swing as they gear up for our upcoming Spring Musical scheduled for March 22 and 23!

Students in grades 2 through 6 enjoyed a day of cross-country skiing and camaraderie made possible through the collaborative efforts of GCS, NREC (Natural Resource Education Center), and AMC!

Thank you to all the amazing fans who came out to support our teams and senior athletes! We had a great turn out and the girls once again pulled out a very exciting victory over a tough Jackman team! The boys started off a bit slow but picked up the intensity and closed the gap with a very good second half, unfortunately they fell short.
Our varsity teams close out their regular season with a game in Guilford on Wednesday 2/7 @5:00 pm. Make the short drive and come to cheer on our teams in their final game. Our girls currently sit in 4th place in the standings and our boys are currently in 9th and would travel for a preliminary game if things remained the same.
Tournament seedings and schedule will be updated when we receive the information.

Congratulations to Alayna McMahon on her 3rd place finish yesterday in Hermon! Alayna had the fastest run time overall out of 2 runs for each skier and her two run total put her in 3rd out of 25 racers.
Dustin Freethy-Poiss had the 4th fastest run time during his second run, unfortunately a missed gate during his first run cost him a shot at placing.
Great job to both skiers! Good luck today!

Another great win last night for our varsity girls basketball team against Guilford! They continue to climb the standings as we head towards tournament time!
