Mrs. Eastland’s 1st graders are learning how small actions can make a big difference! After talking about ways to help our community, the class organized a trash pick-up on the school grounds. They had fun, made a difference, and turned our fields and trails into a cleaner, more beautiful space. Way to go, 1st graders!

Our 1st graders didn’t let a little rain stop them! Mrs. Eastland’s class took a walking trip to Shaw Public Library as part of their study on “Community.” The students enjoyed exploring the library’s bookshelves and learning about the role the library plays in our town.
A big THANK YOU to Shaw Public Library for their hospitality. This trip was a perfect blend of learning, adventure, and community spirit!

Earlier in October, the 6th Grade Social Studies class traveled to Bangor International Airport and toured the Airport and the Maine Troop Greeters Museum with Mr. Beverly and a parent volunteer. They learned about how the airport operates, got to ride in a shuttle bus on the runway, visit the Dispatch Center, and learn about how the Troop Greeters have been working to serve and honor all returning armed forces troops over the past 34 years. They also learned a bit of how the effort to greet the troops has impacted them.
